The Washington Commanders and wide receiver Terry McLaurin have agreed to a three-year extension worth $96 million, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported Monday.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the wide receiver has agreed to a three-year, $96 million contract with Washington, tying him to the club through the 2028 NFL season.

Not that anyone was expecting it to actually happen, but there was a long-shot hope that the Washington Commanders would lose a few brain cells and let their No. 1 offensive weapon walk out the door. But with the season around the corner, they made the smart move by signing the All-Pro wideout to a contract extension.
