The U.S. and China agreed to a 90-day pause in their trade conflict. Here's what China's tariffs on the U.S. looked like in 2024.

After two days of high-stakes talks in Switzerland, trade negotiators from the world’s biggest economies announced a massive if temporary de-escalation of tariffs, with the US slashing duties on Chinese products to 30% from 145% and Beijing dropping its levy on most goods to 10%.

Under the new agreement, the US and China have both suspended all but 10% of their Liberation Day tariffs for 90 days and cancelled other retaliatory tariffs. This will cut US tariffs on Chinese imports to 30%, while Chinese tariffs on US imports will be cut to 10%. The pause will begin on 14 May.
