Vikings starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy is practicing this week for the first time since suffering a high ankle sprain in September. McCarthy has sat out the last three games as backup Carson Wentz led the team to a 2–1 record prior to the bye week this past Sunday.

Los Angeles Lakers two-way player Chris Mañon is unlikely to play in the preseason due to a grade 2 ankle sprain.

Garrett Nussmeier sprained an ankle on Saturday in LSU's win over South Carolina, but coach Brian Kelly doesn't think it will affect his availability moving forward. Kelly said on Monday that Nussmeier did not suffer a high ankle sprain. The injury is more of a "medial" sprain, he said.

James (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's preseason game against the Mavericks, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.
