The Onion has won the bankruptcy auction for Alex Jones’ Infowars, backed by families of Sandy Hook victims, with plans to relaunch it as a satirical site aimed at conspiracy theories.

Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting families have been waiting to learn who will control Infowars, the media company formerly owned by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

InfoWars was bought by The Onion in a court ordered auction against Alex Jones, who owes over $1billion to families of Sandy Hook shooting victims.
