Ricky Gervais has revealed the ‘brutal’ jokes he would have used if he were hosting this year’s Golden Globes awards. The event, taking place this evening in the US, marks the kick off of this year’s award season proper, with it only a few months until the Oscars.

Of course, the actual host on Sunday is comedian Nikki Glaser, who is also known for her ability to open fire on celebrities, having performed at several televised roasts (such as last year’s Netflix roast of Tom Brady, which she credits with landing her the Globes hosting gig).
