A Portsmouth fan died at Fratton Park following a medical emergency ahead of the club's Championship game against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

A Portsmouth fan has sadly died after being taken ill during their Championship match against Middlesbrough played on Saturday afternoon at Fratton Park

Portsmouth's EFL Championship match with Middlesbrough was halted within seconds because of a medical emergency in the stands. The match had only been underway for a matter of seconds before referee Gavin Ward halted proceedings, with the players swiftly taken off the pitch.

Middlesbrough’s away game at Portsmouth has been delayed due to a medical emergency in the crowd. The 3pm kick-off between Michael Carrick’s side and home team Pompey had to be delayed due to an incident in the home stands at Fratton Park.
