Oracle and AMD expand a partnership with deals in the artificial intelligence sector booming
Oracle and Advanced Micro Devices said Tuesday that they are expanding their partnership with the deployment of 50,000 AMD graphic processing units beginning in the third quarter of 2026 with further expansion to follow.
At its annual mega showcase 'Oracle AI World', which began here on Tuesday, the US tech giant also made a slew of announcements, among them the deepening of Oracle and chipmaker AMD's collaboration, reflecting an aggressive push by technology and AI firms to strengthen data and computing capabilities.
Oracle on Tuesday revealed it would field more than 18 zettaFLOPS worth of AI infrastructure from Nvidia and AMD by the second half of next year. This includes a cluster of 800,000 Nvidia GPUs capable of delivering up to 16 zettaFLOPS of peak AI performance — that's sparse FP4 in case you're wondering.
