Some of the nation's best colleges can be found in the Lone Star State, and one can be found on the same list as Ivy League schools like Yale and Harvard.

Niche ranked Yale as the best college in Connecticut, and the Ivy League college secured second place for Niche's 2026 Best Colleges in America, out of around 1,600 colleges across the country. Massachusetts Institute of Technology was ranked No.1.

CALIFORNIA — Stanford University is the best college in California, according to rankings released Monday by Niche, a college ranking and review platform. In all, 674 colleges and universities in California were ranked as part of more than 4,000 nationwide that were named in Niche's 2026 Best Colleges in America.
