Sullivan was a Rangers assistant under John Tortorella when they selected Miller in the first round (No. 15 overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft and again when he played his first 26 games in the NHL in 2013.

Any work there is to be done as a result of this past Rangers season isn’t so much about talent as it is about adding players willing to buy in.

Sullivan is already at work building relationships with Rangers players, and his relationship with GM Chris Drury is strong.
