One of two fuel pipelines that connect Las Vegas to a major oil refinery in Southern California was closed because of power outages related to fires in the Los Angeles area.

The city of Las Vegas said in a statement on Thursday afternoon the valley "looks to face temporary disruptions in service" of the main pipeline that brings fuel to the valley.

Following the wildfires that have wrecked the Los Angeles area since Tuesday afternoon, Clark County officials said they are working to mitigate any possible impact to Las Vegas's fuel supply.

A fuel pipeline that connects the Las Vegas market to a major oil refinery in Southern California has been closed since just before noon Wednesday and remains shut down because of power outages related to fires in Los Angeles.
