Jayden Daniels has had off days before, but this last defeat was different. Facing third-and-1 late in the fourth quarter Monday night, Washington was a couple first downs away from potentially running out the clock when Daniels fumbled on a handoff.

After missing the last two weeks because of a knee sprain he suffered on a late-game scramble in Green Bay, Daniels will return on Sunday with a brace and hopes of jumpstarting Washington’s offense. Making sure he stays available is an ongoing focus for the Commanders.
