A tropical disturbance brewing in the Caribbean Sea has a medium chance of development over the next week, according to the National Hurricane Center.

While little activity is expected in the short term, gradual development of the system is possible as it moves slowly to the north or northwest, potentially into the southern Gulf of Mexico by the end of next week.
