President Donald Trump is on his way to Israel and Egypt to take part in a ceremony to commemorate the signing of the ceasefire agreement.

The war in Gaza has ended, Trump said as he flew to Israel, which was waiting for Hamas to release Israeli hostages. Trump speaks at the Knesset and then gathers with other world leaders in Egypt for a summit on ending the conflict.

Israel and Hamas gathered in Egypt for indirect talks over a U.S.-backed plan to end the Gaza war after months of deadlock.

The Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip is expected to reopen to civilians next week, according to several sources. The facility is expected to officially reopen for pedestrian traffic on Tuesday,

The crash was in Sharm el Sheikh, where indirect talks between Israel and Hamas led to a breakthrough deal. The city will also host a summit on Monday.

Egypt will host an international summit in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday to finalise an agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza, an Egyptian presidential spokesperson said on Saturday.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were on hand to take part in indirect talks between Israel and Hamas, which aim to end the war in Gaza.

The new Israel-Hamas deal contains provisions to increase aid to Gaza, and for the reopening of a border crossing from Egypt.
