Several people are due to appear before courts in Dublin on Friday following Thursday's anti-immigration protest and anti-racism counter-protest.

Sixteen people have been charged following protests in Dublin city yesterday. The charges include possession of a knife, assault and criminal damage. 100 Gardaí were drafted in yesterday evening to deal with anti and pro-immigration protests in the city centre.

Irish police on Thursday arrested 19 people in Dublin after anti-immigration protesters blocked the main bridge in the capital for hours at peak traffic time.
