Six months ago, Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing was considered a likely name to emerge atop head coach interview lists by the end of the season. That hasn’t quite turned into reality, thanks to an inconsistent offense. But at least one team remains interested in Petzing.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears have requested an interview with Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing. Petzing has been the Cardinals’ OC for two years, his first two years at the position. Previously, he coached quarterbacks and tight ends for the Cleveland Browns.

The Bears have now requested interviews with four assistant coaches: Johnson, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver and Petzing. General manager Ryan Poles also confirmed Bears interim head coach Thomas Brown will get a formal interview for the permanent role.

In addition to a much-anticipated Ben Johnson meeting, the Bears are using Black Monday to roll out other interview requests.
