New York mayoral candidates faced off in their first debate as voters prepare to choose the next person to lead America’s biggest city.
Thursday night’s New York City mayoral debate was the first time the front-runner, Zohran Mamdani, and his rivals in the race, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, had appeared on the same stage in the campaign. Their two hours of questions, answers and cross talk included pointed accusations, misleading statements and expensive promises.
