Coach Kevin Stefanski defended his handling of Shedeur Sanders’ development after the Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback struggled against the Los Angeles Rams in Saturday’s preseason finale.

Cleveland released QB Tyler Huntley on Sunday, leaving the team with four signal-callers — Week 1 starter Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders — on its 53-man roster. Huntley, who signed earlier this month amid injuries, was the only former Pro Bowl QB on the roster.
