A not guilty plea was entered on behalf of Nora T. Nelson by her lawyer during her arraignment Friday in the Charlestown division of Boston Municipal Court.

BOSTON - A man found dead on a houseboat in Charlestown on Sunday has been identified as 65-year-old Joseph Donohue. He died from multiple stab wounds, Boston police said Wednesday, and his death has been ruled a homicide.

A distraught friend of the victim said he was a Boston lawyer and a divorced father of three. Sources said his dog was also found dead in the harbor.

A 24-year-old named a “person of interest” in connection with the death of a man on a luxury houseboat in Charlestown now faces a murder charge, prosecutors said Thursday. Nora Nelson was arrested at the scene of the man’s death on Sunday night on a trio of warrants charging her with a variety of domestic violence offenses unrelated to the Charlestown case.

The Boston attorney who was found stabbed to death on his houseboat was wrapped and weighted down, a prosecutor said.

Police were conducting a welfare check at the houseboat, which was docked at the Charlestown Marina, when they found the body of Joseph Donohue, 65, police said.

A prosecutor revealed in court on Friday that an officer found the victim’s body “wrapped in a white and blue covering, secured with duct tape and affixed with weights."
