Ratt (stylized as RATT) was an American glam metal band that had significant commercial success in the 1980s, with their albums having been certified as gold, platinum and multi-platinum by the RIAA.
The lead single “Round and Round” became Ratt’s signature song and remains one of the most iconic tracks of the glam metal era. Ratt became a recognisable name because to the song’s addictive riff, memorable chorus and extensive MTV airplay.
In 1977, Stephen Pearcy formed Mickey Ratt in San Diego, but rebooted the lineup when relocating to LA three years later, eventually recruiting then-teenaged guitarist Jake E Lee.
The group had its origins in the '70s group Mickey Ratt, which had evolved into Ratt by 1983; at that time the band featured vocalist Stephen Pearcy, guitarist Robbin Crosby, guitarist Warren DeMartini, bassist Juan Croucier, and drummer Bobby Blotzer.
