Having the screensaver pop so soon is annoying because it prevents me from seeing what I paused other than for a few secs. before the screen-saver pops up. I thought a few years ago, there was a setting in the HR-xx machines to turn on or turn off the screen saver. Has this feature been removed to only let it be on?
After several posts stating that the screensaver on my DVR didn't start until after 5 minutes, and was only showing static images, I am now seeing moving images after 30 seconds. My SW version didn't change, still 12e5. Annoying behavior.
Back on 09-11-07, I mentioned that I would like to get rid of the screensaver after each power down and update. Someone suggested that I should use autotune on my remote. Unfortunately my 622 remote does not have it.So, where do I find it? The Dish tecnical support told me to disable the standbye unit, which I did, it does not work. Any suggestions?
The screensaver is a nuisance. It periodically changes my picture to pillar box (on high def regular screen width programs) when I go back to watching a recording, then, if I go to list, then exit, it goes back to full screen. The "screensaver" is just a way to shamelessly plug programs on movie channels. Is burn in even an issue any more?

I hope there is a screen saver in the new hopper. Seems like such a simple thing, even my wii has a screen saver. Sure would be nice to not worry about leaving the screen paused with the bright white pause bars burning into the screen. Anyone know about this?
The Hopper screensaver will also let you know when your receiver is taking a guide download, and it gives a percentage (in increments of 5%) of the progress. If you are waiting for the guide to finish downloading, it is important to watch the percentage displayed carefully.

The screensaver is HTTP delivered embedded HTML content which Optimum is modifying and inserting code to overlay their ads/promo banner. Since the screensaver isn't something designed for user navigation, you can't access the button to close the popup.
